The Somatic Immersion Technique is an innate self-healing method that gently induces a state of regeneration through stillness, presence, and surrender.
Unlike other mindfulness or energy healing methods that use force or manipulation, this method invites us to observe the shifts that arise organically when we relinquish control. It is a body-led practice determined by our capacity and where we are on our unique healing journey.
Personally, this has been my most potent tool for transformation.
In practice, this method combines somatic techniques such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), breathwork, intrinsic movement, and basic Reiki principles, while lying in a deep trance state on our yoga mats.
It is similar to meditation, but with lots of subtle nuance.
Each class will begin with a short instruction to introduce us to a new aspect of the technique. We will then do a few simple stretches to open and relax our bodies, and spend 20-25 minutes immersing. Then, once we slowly come out of the practice, we will take a few moments to share and integrate our experiences.
We will spend most of class lying on a mat on the floor. Please wear comfortable clothing, bring water, and bring anything that will help you find ease.
If you have a weighted blanket, please bring it with you. But one is not necessary.
Blankets, mats, and basic props will be provided.

This class is not recommended for those actively navigating Post Traumatic Stress. If you find it frightening to be with the sensations of the body, I recommend working with a somatic therapist before practicing this technique.
